Hey, I'm Tosha thanks so much for visiting my blog! I'm a Washington DC Metro area based photographer who loves to have fun. I'm also a mom of three fun loving kids who have inspired me to do what I do (besides running from me when I come anywhere near them with my camera!) as well as a wife to a wonderful husband who says that I am "eclectic" (just a kind way of saying I'm a weirdo I guess). I use only available light, shoot in my natural light studio or on-location. It's my goal to create timeless art for you and your family that expresses who you truly are in this point in your lives. I absolutely love what I do, and I look forward to capturing your life!!

Delicious or Disgusting?

For those of you who don’t know The Captured Life has two locations, one in the DC metro area and one in ATL metro area. I (Renae) used to life in DC but recently relocated to ATL. My partner in crime (Tosha) still resides in DC. Why am I telling you this now? I’m glad you asked. Most recently Tosha sent me a pic from her iphone

Boy do I miss these. One of the best Thai food resturants in DC THAIPHOON, well actually it’s in Arlington, VA, but if you LOVE Thai it’s definately the place to go. Pictured above are the infamous “Curry Puffs” my favorite appetizer!!! How rude to tempt me with something I just can’t have. All the way here in Atlanta or can I? That’s when I got the brilliant idea! FED EX! So I asked Tosh to overnight me an order of Curry Puffs!

“OMG are you serious?”
“Yes, dead serious”

So away they went, leaving DC on the way to ATL, overnight of course.

Ok, I admit when they arrived they did not LOOK as good as they did when they left, but OMG after 30 sec in the microwave they taste just like home. Some may say that is disgusting, but you don’t understand you can’t just get Curry Puffs anywhere, and if you are honest with yourself, you left something out all night that you refused to throw and and ate it the next day LOL! I will let you let you know that because I am writing this blog that I lived to tell about it!

1ST Birthday Fun with Baby “C”!

I had such a ball with this little one year old. He was a little bundle of energy showing all his new 1 year old tricks. Running, climbing stairs, peeking, hiding! It was so much fun. As soon as I hit the door he was all smiles and giggles. We formed an instant connection. Then we travelled down the street to the park where Superman started to loose some of his cryptonite. Seems like I wore my little man out at the house but he stil gave me the cutest expressions to make you just wanna eat ‘em up. Thanks mom and dad for allowing me some fun time with your little one. You all were a true pleasure indeed. Not to mention the scrumptious cheescake at the end. Yum Yum Yum. What a way to end a session.

VACATION!!!!

Greetings from not so sunny Florida! It has rained every day since we been here, but the good thing about Florida is that the sun will pop right back out! We are having a great time. Yesterday we visited Universal’s Island of Adventure. Whoo Hooo! I am a roller coster junkie, and for the first time my son’s overcame their fears and rode “The Hulk Coaster”. How proud I am of them for being so brave!

This picture is soooo funny, but I am very proud of them they even had their eyes open!

Universal has such awesome attractions and non-coasters as well. One of my favorite’s was “Poseidon’s Fury”. The whole expierence. It was actually a tour but it might as well been a simulated ride. AWESOME. Here are some pics from outside. Most of the attractions are photographer haters “please no flash or still photography”. HATERS!!! So you have to enjoy these.

I had so much fun with this family. Little "D" was my best friend from jump street. The moment we met I felt we had a bond. He was getting in his car and taking me to Target to buy me dresses and shoes! Then there’s sweet little "K"! She would not let go of mommy’s leg..but that didn’t last long. Till she was chasing after her brother and climbing over everything she could. Mom was so laid back and just let us have fun in the park. I tell you though little "D" gave me a run for my money! That child has limitless energy. I really enjoyed our photo session which turned into a play date for me. I had so much fun with them!

Thanks mom for allowing them to be roam free and be themselves! P.S and it didn’t hurt that they were the fliest kids on the playground either!
